Casketgarden was formed back in 1998 by three of today’s members: Attila Cseh, Péter Musitz, Balázs Tóth. The plan was to make such a brutal but melodic music as our favourite bands (At The Gates, Carcass ) had done before they split up. The line-ip became full in 1999 with a bassist and our present vocalist István Cseh. We recorded two demos with the first line-up: “An Ever Rounding Circle” in 1999 and the path-finder “...Of Grief” in 2000. These two demos, but especially the second got great reviews in every ’zine where it was sent to. These two demos were released in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Romania by Rock Express Records, in a special one tape format. The Hungarian version was totally sold out…There were some problems in the line-up in 2001, then Gábor Őri, our present bassist got in the picture. His ancient metal fanatism and dirty rock n’ roll feeling made Casketgarden complete. With the new line-up we made a really rude continuation of our “career”. In the summer of 2002 “The Non-Existent” was released, the promo-CD we find the label Metal Age with. This stuff got great reviews all over the world, from South America to South Korea and our Hungarian position became stronger, too. We played with bands like Pungent Stench, Dew-Scented, Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, Anthrax as a support band and we gave succesfull concerts in Serbia, Austria, Switzerland and Italy in 2003.

After the busy year 2003 Casketgarden recorded at Studio Denevér and released our first full length album under the Slovakian label Metal Age Productions. The music is the same as in the beginning: very brutal death/thrash metal with gloomy, heartbreaking melodies. Forget the true heavy metal twin themes. These griefy melodies are under the influence of old English doom bands as well, to make a darker atmosphere. The influences of Swedish bands are present here in the fast rhythms, and twisted riffing strengthening the brutal side of music. The songs like “Widow Mother Earth”, “Song Of Tears”, “Immortality Inc.”, “Human Corrosive Disease” will definitely wash away the At The Gates-clone label from the band.
The concept is based upon an old song “An Ever Rounding Circle” which is not appearing in full-length. The title “This Corroded Soul Of Mine” is also part of the lyrics of that old CG song. The lyrics is about the every day fights of our lives, when you feel you became rusty from despise, lies, blindness and the fight for living day by day (which is a very big problem in Eastern European countries). Where is the emotion, the sense that makes our life more beautiful? Only profit and money counts in the modern society. The loosely conceptional album begins with realising that we are part of the corroded society and ends with the escape. But where is the destination? Where to escape?
The cover artwork of Misko Sistak is very good, built around this concept, and expresses the suffering in every day fight of a man who is part of the modern society, very good.
Casketgarden with “This Corroded Soul Of Mine” can be the one of the pulling bands of Metal Age Productions.

Название почему-то сразу напоминает о неких шведах DISMEMBER да и прослушивая промо материалы Венгров сразу понимаешь откуда ноги растут. Музон скорее напоминает AT THE GATES, а некоторые композиции с последнего EP "Non-Existent" чуть ли не удар в удар.
Тем не менее "This Corroded Soul of Mine" великолепный стафф для любителей классического Гетеборга и старой школы Стокгольмского death metal'а. Для меня лично они стали одной из самых любимых групп и хорошими знакомыми. В этом году на Словацком лэйбле Metal Age productions (там же вышел и дебютник CASKETGARDEN "This Corroded..." в 2002-м году) вышел второй полноформатник под названием "Open the Casket, Enter the Garden".

Кто слышал? Уже добакланился о трейде с гитаристом CASKET'ов

Открывающая "Human Corrosive Disease" ваще чума, а треки "7th Scar", "Non-Existent" и "The Day When Silent Died" на промке "Non-Existent" были сыграны убедительнее
